Volunteers serve a watch-dog function in hearings about violence against women and children and provide judges and other participants a public perspective on appropriate standards of behavior and regular performance feedback.

What a judge had to say about WATCH:

“They hold up a mirror…and sometimes we don’t like what we see.”

What volunteers had to say about court monitoring:

“When I go to court as an attorney in a civil matter, everyone is on-time, prepared, and professionally defends their client’s interests. The opposite is true in domestic violence hearings.”

“Nothing happened at the hearing I monitored. Why not?”
