WATCH internships/externships provide law school, criminal justice and social work students with an opportunity to obtain first hand experience in the court room and work on significant and impactful research projects. The current project for interns/externs is the two-phase sex trafficking project.

Phase I: Two-pronged assessment of juvenile sex trafficking in Hennepin and Ramsey counties.

Evaluate the effectiveness of sex trafficking laws  and judicial procedures in Hennepin and Ramsey courts and identify problem areas in charging and prosecuting sex trafficking cases.

Compare the policies and approaches utilized in Hennepin and Ramsey courts in sex trafficking cases.

Phase II: A judicial policy report

A fact-based report detailing WATCH’s findings and judicial policy change recommendations for Hennepin and Ramsey courts.
